Interior Firefighter Operations

Description

This program allows departments to demonstrate that their firefighters possess the firefighting skills they need, and align with industry best practices. The course provides participants with credits toward NFPA 1001 Firefighter I for subjects completed and evaluated. Subjects include:

  • Equipment & Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
  • Rope and Knots
  • Ladders
  • Ventilation
  • Water Supplies
  • Fire Behaviour
  • Forcible Entry
  • Fire Suppression for Class A Fires & Vehicle Fires
  • Gas and Electrical Safety
  • Incident Command System
  • Search and Rescue
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Salvage, Overhaul and Loss Control
  • Interior Attack Target Audience
  • Members of a community fire department

Prerequisites
Exterior Firefighter Operations Program

Certification
Examination requiring 75% for award of Certificate of Completion. Participants will be eligible to write NFPA 1001, Level 1 and HazMat Awareness tests.
